During the University of Mobile’s Honors Program Italy tour, led by Assistant Professor of English and Honors Program Director Dr. Douglas Mitchell, 18 UM students will take the trip of their lifetime. They will travel to the historic and breathtakingly beautiful country of Italy.
Most will be following in the footsteps of previous UM honors students, but they will also embark on new territory as they visit some of the famous places they read about in UM classes. The students will leave from Mobile on February 29, 2008 and arrive in Venice. Over the next several days, the students will visit Venice, Florence, and Rome.
Some highlights of the trip will be (but not limited to) a gondola ride in Venice, seeing Michelangelo’s “David” in Florence, and visiting the “Eternal City” of Rome. The life-changing trip, which is open to all UM students, will end when they return to Mobile on March 9.
Follow Rebekah, Kristen, Rebecca, and Emily as they blog about their adventures in Italy. Check this site daily once the students embark on their trip! Ciao!
